Why Does He Get To Sleep?

I can’t sleep. It’s half past one in the wee hours of the morning and Hubs is sleeping like a baby beside me; breathing heavily in my face. Right now I want to smother him with a pillow, but then who would pump air in my bicycle tires tomorrow?

So, instead I shove him in the face with my open hand.

Hubs wakes up startled, and says..

Whaa… You just shoved me in the face. Why’d you do that?

(I pretend to be asleep, and I answer him in a sleepy voice)

“I didn’t shove you. You are dreaming. Go back to sleep.”

Yes you did.

“No I didn’t. Go back to sleep. And stop talking to me. You are waking me up.”

Oh, I’m sorry.

And then he rolls over and goes back to sleep.

Thankfully Hubs is breathing in the other direction now, away from me. But I still can’t sleep. And I feel strongly that my insomnia is somehow his fault.
